Art Deco Bakelite Dress/Scarf Clip

This dress clip is circa 1930s, Art Deco by design, and the loveliest amber bakelite I’ve been able to find. Unlike other Bakelite dress clips, this material is a beautiful tortoise shell /amber brown and has no carving.  The backing and catch are in gilt metal with the backing circle retaining  a warm gold colour with barely a scuff. The item measures 5 cms/2 inches in width.

It’s in remarkable vintage condition. The only visible wear marks are on the back of the clip itself which you can see from the photographs.
