Description
A minimalist design by celebrated Gio Ponti and Lino Sabattini, who was the artistic director at Christofle, Paris in the period 1956-1963.
The lightweight vase has a sleek, modern shape, rendered brilliantly in the reflective silver surface: a high “waist” with the upper portion flaring slightly and ending in two sharp peaks. Stamped on bottom “Christofle France” with hallmarks.
The condition of the items is very good with a few minor age related scuffs and are sold as a pair. Externally, the silver is very good. Internally, as can be seen in the first photo, the mouth of each vase has some wear. Each vase measures 21 cms high and base is 3.75 cms diameter.
