Vintage Trifari Sunflower Brooch

Huge Trifari gilt metal sunflower brooch featuring smooth and textured metal, including petals with upturned petals. On the back it is smooth and the entire item measures approximately 3.75 Inches/9.5 cms.  This design was first released in the US in the 1960’s and was decorated in different finishes including yellow and white diamonds.

Since the 1920s, Trifari have produced costume jewellery in the United States. It was founded in the 1910s by Gustavo Trifari, an Italian-immigrant son of a Napoli goldsmith. The Sunflower series has a collector’s following in the US.  It’s in good vintage condition. As you can see from the photos, some of the gilt is starting to wear on the petal ends but largely this brooch appears unmarked by its’ many years of service.
